Friday night concerts

12th March 2010

Bernard Wrigley

What can you tell about a man whose early CV includes half of a resident duo at the Bury Folk Club, playing the Sailor’s Hornpipe ‘on teeth and head’ for Kenny Everett and Germaine Greer, and whose first TV solo performance was of his first song “Our Bill and the Concrete Mixer” – probably many things but ‘different’ and ‘talented’ spring to mind.

16th April 2010

Tannahill Weavers

Over the years the Tannies have been trailblazers for Scottish music, and their tight harmonies and powerful, inventive arrangements have won them fans from beyond the folk and Celtic music scenes.

14th May 2010

Marie Little

Marie's warm & friendly, funny, deadly serious then scandalously rude (and gets away with it), she has time for a word with everyone she meets, and she's got a great voice ......... it's wonderful to have her back again"- Maghull Day of Music
