Fair Game
Fair Game are Lorna Cooper and Helen Shilladay. Helen has been singing in Folk Sessions in the Derbyshire area informally for the past few years and was the winner of the Singers' Competition at 2008 Stainsby Folk Festival Lorna recently returned to singing in Lester Simpson's Folk Choir at the Medway Centre in Bakewell and it was there the two ladies met. Realising that they shared a desire to sing in a more intimate group, they began to experiment with harmonies and, with Lester's encouragement they decided to take a name and take to the stage! Fair Game were well received on their first visit to 'Let Me Entertain You' at Club Chesterfield and three of their songs were included in Helen's set at Stainsby this year. Their repertoire includes well known and more obscure Folk songs, running the gamut of emotion from melancholy to jolly!
